Bouquet turned potted succulents

My bouquet for the wedding was gorgeous and so unique!  The coolest part is that the main flowers were succulents, which totally grow as house plants.  I have a house plant obsession, so I was stoked!  I threw my bouquet in my suitcase, flew it home, and after a trip to Home Depot, I had some cute pots and potting soil for succulents, cacti, and other plants that prefer well-drained soil.  I cut the succulents out of the bouquet and placed them in the soil.  I will water them for the first time one week after planting and hope that they grow roots!  I did a lot of reading on these and although you often see these things floating in water, they really are a dessert plant, and don't like to sit in water.  Perfect because I'm currently in the hot, hellish dessert climate of summer in Colorado!

Pretty cool, right?  (1 day of suitcase riding and it still looks this good!)

Fun pots!  Rather than buying special soil, you can amend regular soil with pumice to make it drain better.  I had zero soil on hand, so figured this was worth grabbing.
My new potted succulents on my kitchen windowsill.  I can't wait to see how they do!
How cute are these?  What a neat way for me to remember the wedding and Cassie and Kevin forever!

This is a super neat bouquet idea and I'm glad the plants will last on your windowsill into the future! :)
